You might recognise the moment
Most clients arrive with a seemingly different challenge.
A HR strategy that no longer fits
Hiring plans, comp bands and capability frameworks built for a smaller, simpler company. The org has outgrown them.
A leadership team that cannot execute
Decisions revisited weekly, ownership is unclear. Smart people, but slow output. The friction sits in the design, not the people.
A scaling, M&A or restructure moment
You are integrating a deal, entering a new market, or preparing for sale. The current shape will not get you there.
Talent risk you cannot ignore
Critical roles concentrated in a few heads. Succession is thin, culture might be drifting and quiet exits are starting to show.
But the root solution to all is optimised organisation design.

Common questions
What leaders ask before reaching out.
What is organisation design and why does it matter?
Organisation design is the deliberate shaping of structure, roles, decision rights, spans of control and ways of working so a company can deliver on its strategy. When the design lags the strategy, execution slows, talent leaves and growth stalls. Most leaders feel the symptoms long before they recognise the cause.
How is organisation design different from management consulting?
Keith works directly with the CEO, CHRO or executive team to design a bespoke solution that can be carried through. There are no associate teams, no template decks and no engagement creep. Each piece of work has a clear scope, a defined outcome and a written deliverable the leadership team owns.
When is the right time to engage in organisation design?
The most common moments are scaling past 50, 150 or 500 people, integrating an acquisition, preparing for sale, replacing a leadership team member, or entering a new market. If decisions are slowing, ownership is unclear or critical talent is at risk, the design is already costing you.
Does Keith McCarthy work outside Ireland?
Yes. Keith is based in Ireland and works with Irish headquartered businesses as well as international leadership teams with operations in Ireland, the UK and the EU.
What does a first conversation look like?
